Lorrie G. Vogel
Mixed Media
Lorrie creates paintings that explore moments of joy through light and reflection. Inspired by travel and everyday discoveries, her work draws viewers into familiar yet luminous spaces, from glowing café windows to reflective city streets. Rather than capturing light realistically, she abstract and amplify it, allowing it to become the emotional center of each piece.
Working in layered encaustic and cold wax, Lorrie builds depth, translucency, and texture, creating surfaces that hold and reflect light. Her work explores themes of connection, memory, and belonging, offering quiet, atmospheric moments that invite pause and reflection.
Karen (Kiki) Spiro
Sculpture, Wood, Painting, Mixed Media
Why do I paint these chairs? I am trained as an artist with extensive studies in art history & painting is my happy place. Chairs are a fun medium. I look for chairs that speak to me of a certain time or artist. When I needed a dining table & chairs, I made a table out of a door & found a bunch of mismatched chairs. One day, sitting at the table, I thought it might be fun to paint portraits on the chairs so I could eat dinner with fascinating people. It was so much fun! I kept painting, even when my dining room was full; actually, I couldn’t stop. My style has evolved over the past 30+ years. From a portrait, on the front, another painting on the back & brightly colored legs. Now, I add images & motifs from the artist on other parts of the chair. I found a company that has fabulous artist-inspired fabric for upholstered seats to complement the theme. I love collaborating with customers on special orders. I hope you enjoy the work!
