Molly Reeves
Painting
My desire is to make us see something familiar in a new way or to make us feel something we ought to have felt all along or show us our place in the world more clearly. Taking others on a visual journey allowing us to each live out loud. Play, invention and whimsey are evident revealing our inner truths. It's been said that my paintings are fantastical. My tendency is to write about our world using line, color and composition.
I invite people to savor the moments and cherish our surroundings. It's such a great joy to encourage others to explore their creative abilities. LO Open Studios is all about sharing.
Tamae Frame
Ceramics, Sculpture
Tamae create figurative sculptures in ceramic. She chose ceramic as my medium for the numerous possibilities in shaping and coloring my sculptures in which she express my thoughts, feelings, and imagination. She construct my piece from the bottom with low fire clay, using hand build technique: making the coils or slabs, joining them, and cutting into the desired shape. Tamae pays special attention to sculpting the face in order to express the subject’s character. After the bisque firing, she usually color her sculpture with several underglazes and apply a clear matte glaze to give a soft glow to the surface.
