Rachel Gering (Studio #24)

From my earliest memories, painting has been my steadfast companion—an enchanting medium that transforms my world and imagination into magic on a flat surface. At fifteen, a traumatic brain injury (TBI) altered the course of my life, but painting remained the blessing I didn’t have to let go of. It not only enhanced my quality of life, but became my way of coping, a method of travel, and an escape. I love crafting landscapes that serve as windows to distant destinations—some capture places I’ve visited, others imagine places I long to see. Through painting, I travel beyond my limitations, inviting others to join me on a visual adventure and find a moment of peace. Art becomes a universal passport, helping us connect and explore despite disability or busy lives. I enjoy using acrylics, oils, chalk pastels, and watercolors, and one of my greatest joys is brightening homes with art and capturing others’ journeys through commissions.
