Mary Burgess (Studio #2)
My watercolor journey began in 1998 when I took my first class from local artists, Chris Stubbs. Since that time, I have been fortunate to study with other well known artists including Paul Jackson, Mary Whyte, Judy Morris and Jean Pederson. I am especially attracted to subjects with strong light and shadow contrast which adds depth and dimension to my paintings. Each painting is started with a light colorful wash with progressive layers of color adding richness and subtlety to the color palette.
