Jenny Watson (Studio #24)

Born and raised in Germany gave me the opportunity to travel Europe, since 2000 also the United States. Those adventures influence me, capturing ideas from destinations of ancient and modern architecture, landscapes and organic forms. Combining subjects from manmade designs with nature’s own architectural engineering intrigues me.

Mixed with a touch of fantasy I use lines and patterns to create my land- and cityscapes. Creatures, dreamlike plants, and objects are developed with forms and shapes, some with or without references, then grown into images. Some work includes a natural botanical or have a fantasy element.

Lately I use the drypoint technique on plexiglass to implement my images, ready to print easier. I print lithography stones and etchings, and I also do acrylic paintings on canvas or wood boards.

NOTE: Jenny will be a guest artist at One River School - Lake Oswego
