Carolyn Gutz
Painting
Starting in 2023, artist Carolyn Guts presents her latest art form of watercolor signed originals inspired by nature, the impressionists, and current trends. Her life-long love of color influences her fluid depictions of texture, animals, florals, land and seascapes, abstracts and whimsey. Watercolor is the latest of her experimentation with art forms previously using fabrics, acrylics, resin, fibers, sculpture, jewelry, plant material and up-cycling garments into wearable art.
Robert Gutz
Painting
Bob discovered the joy of drawing while he was in grade school and he first put a brush and watercolor to paper in the fourth grade. His interest in creating images and other objects of art continued through the school years, with his time in college resulting in a B.A. in Industrial Design. During his working years Bob put his creative side to work as a toy designer, package designer/engineer, and director of art and package design. His third career choice saw him joining his wife on the Pacific Northwest art show circuit where she created and sold jewelry and he produced items both functional and pleasing to the eye on his wood lathe.
And finally we return to the fourth grade. The memory of water coloring for the first time turned into a rediscovery of the fascination he felt so many years ago in creating images on paper using brushes, water and paint. He hopes you will enjoy seeing the results of his current creative endeavors.
Akiko Koike
Ceramics
I make pottery because I enjoy the process of creating. My work focuses on a sense of season and texture, with forms that can be used in daily life. I create a range of pieces, including wreaths, objects, plates, and small works. I especially enjoy making wreaths, inspired by the changing seasons. Through my work, I hope to bring a quiet, personal sense of originality into everyday life.
Leo R Hobson Jr.
Drawing, Painting
I create art that inspires remembering our past, using acrylic paint, pen, and ink. I think the beauty of nature and fashion are inspirations for my work.
NOTE: Leo and his works will not be available during First Look Friday.
