LEARN MORE ABOUT LISA BRINKMAN
Lisa Brinkman is a West Linn–based artist whose work is rooted in a lifelong communion with the natural world. From her forested “treehouse” home of nearly four decades, she creates lyrical mixed media paintings from eco-prints thatexplore our relationship to nature, spirit, and imagination. Her current process involves steaming raw silk with locally foraged plants—geranium, oak, maple, and sumac—producing organic, ethereal imprints. These eco-prints serve as the foundation for layered oil paintings that honor the rhythms, symbols, and cycles of the natural world.
Born in New York City, raised in Chicago, and living in the Portland area since 1974, Brinkman earned her BFA from PNCA in 1997 and an MA in Art Therapy from Marylhurst University. She worked for nearly a decade as an art therapist and counselor in schools, correctional programs, and private practice, using art to support healing and creative growth.
Lisa has participated in the Clackamas County Arts Alliance and the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts since 2016. She joined the Lake Oswego Open Studios tour last year as an artist and currently serves as a Member-at-Large on the board and will be participating in the: Jurying, Free Publicity and Education Committees this year.
